It is also used to dampen the vibrations that can be encountered on the road and that cause the engine to run smoothly. In fact, the engine mount is essentially made of two materials, rubber which absorbs shocks and metal which supports the weight of the engine.

The symptoms change depending on the level of wear of the engine mount(s). These symptoms can be vibrations and/or noises or knocking. In really extreme cases, the engine that is supposed to be supported by the silentblocks can fall out.
Quand faut-il changer votre support moteur ?
It is important to change a silentblock in bad condition. Depending on where the engine mount is defective, the mechanic will change one engine mount or another. He will also advise you to change the other engine mounts even if they are in fairly good condition. It is recommended to change all engine mounts at the same time.
